Ron Paul, John McCain May be Only Republicans at YouTube Debate

Thus far, 2008 Presidential hopefuls Ron Paul and John McCain are the only two confirmed for the upcoming CNN/YouTube Debate in St. Petersburg, Florida September 17.  Both Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani have announced they will not be attending.

Florida's Republican Governor Charlie Crist expressed disappointment.  He called last Monday's CNN/YouTube exchange "the people's debate".

Rudolph Giuliani and Mitt Romney, both with dozens of videos on their YouTube channels, have not signed up. Neither have the rest of the Republican candidates, including Rep. Tom Tancredo (Colo.), whose "Tancredo Takes" on his YouTube channel draw hundreds of views. Sources familiar with the Guiliani campaign said he's unlikely to participate. Kevin Madden, Romney's spokesman, said the former Massachusetts governor has seven debate invitations covering a span of 11 days in September.

"We haven't committed to any of them yet," Madden said.

What will Americans ask the Republicans?

In an interview Wednesday with the Manchester (N.H.) Union Leader, Romney said he's not a fan of the CNN/YouTube format. Referring to the video of a snowman asking the Democratic candidates about global warming, Romney quipped, "I think the presidency ought to be held at a higher level than having to answer questions from a snowman."

Romney may not be a fan but American's - many of whom consider this their forum - could potentially consider this a slap in the face.

The Democratic debate, shown on CNN, featured questions winnowed from thousands submitted online. The result won praise from critics but some conservative pundits accused CNN of cherry-picking questions.

One Republican strategist fears the party may pay a price if everyone backs out.

"It's stuff like this that will set the GOP back an election cycle or more on the Internet," Patrick Ruffini wrote on his blog.

McCain, who has fallen to 4th place and was at 5 to 1 odds of becoming the next US President, could receive a tremendous boost for attending should most of his colleagues in the party drop out.  (see political betting odds from Sportsbook.com here)

Paul enjoys a major YouTube following already.  The nominal showing will ensure that Ron Paul receives more extensive exposure.

YouTubers can upload videos until Sept. 16.

Ron Paul defeats fellow Presidential hopefuls Giuliani, McCain and Romney in Georgetown County Straw Poll

From: mensnewsdaily.com

Fred Thompson, Ron Paul Dominate Georgetown County Straw Poll

Texas congressman Ron Paul defeated fellow Presidential hopefuls Giuliani, McCain and Romney at the Georgetown County Straw Poll yesterday. Paul placed second after unofficial candidate Fred Thompson despite being the predicted victor.

Unlike most other county convention straw polls, the Georgetown County Straw Party Poll does not require you to be a registered voter in the county to cast a ballot. You merely need to purchase a $10 ticket and be 18 or older by November 2008 to vote in the poll.

"Coming right before the big Iowa straw poll, I think presidential candidates, particularly those not participating in Iowa, will be looking for a boost from a win or high placing our poll. South Carolina is very important in that historically, it is the state that chooses the Republican presidential nominee," said Georgetown County Party Chairman Tom Swatzel.

The Ron Paul campaign has already launched a Call Iowa program in anticipation of the major August 11th straw poll.

______________________
Get to the Browns house now!

If you are unable, use this list below, call them and dont stop calling!

Please flood the phones and do not stop till good things start to happen.

1: Sullivan County, NH (Plainfield is located here) Sheriff Michael
Prozzo -- 603-863-4200
Please call the sheriff's office and urge him to act under
his authority as the supreme law enforcement official in Sullivan
County. He is the only elected law enforcement "official" and has
the authority to tell the feds to back off. But so far he hasn't
done anything but hide from this whole matter. Urge him to do
something RIGHT NOW!!!

2: New Hampshire State Governor John Lynch -- 603-271-2121
Please call Gov. Lynch's office right now! They will likely
try to skirt the issue and tell you to call the U.S. Marshall's office.
Don't let them off the hook! Tell them that the GOVERNOR is supposed
to have the authority over New Hampshire -- not the feds!!! Ed does
not live on federal land! Ed is not under federal jurisdiction!
Plainfield isn't on federal land, the county isn't, and the state isn't.
The feds have no business there. The governor could act to stop it
and keep the feds out. As with the sheriff, so far he has not!!!
Call and tell them HE ABSOLUTELY MUST EXERCISE HIS
AUTHORITY AND STOP THE FEDS.

3: The U.S. Marshall's office: 603-225-1632
Please call and tell them they have no authority, no business,
and should immediately stop the violent actions they are taking against
the Browns. They will likely ask for your name and number -- that's
what they asked from me -- you can give it to them if you'd like, or
not if you don't want to -- but don't be scared of these guys. Get
your message that this should be resolved without the continued use
of violence and the threat of violence. Tell them we are watching!

Ron Paul abolishes income taxes and the IRS; it's feasible!

One of the reasons Ron Paul is gaining such enthusiastic support is that he is the only major party candidate calling for significant change.
