Ron Paul Speech in Congress 5/22/07

Ron Paul Meetups on the Map

Pledge site - Ron Paul

If you are a Democrat you know Kucinich is not going to beat Hillary Clinton. In fact we want Ron Paul versus Hillary Clinton. Find out how the GOP in your state select convention delegates. If you are a democrat or libertarian or independent find a Republican who is for Ron Paul and ask him how to get in the party to get Paul nominated. He (or she) will be happy to help you. If you are uncomfortable with becoming a Republican in these times, all I can add to what is presented below is this advice -- shave and wear tie and sports coat (ask at Good Will or the Salvation Army, they will show you what I am talking about) and hold your nose. -- Dick Eastman

Become a Delegate or Ron Paul will Not be President

Before Ron Paul can get elected, he has to be nominated by delegates at the Republican National Convention which will take place in St. Paul, Minnesota, September 1-4, 2008.

We have to get elected as delegates to the convention. Electoral college delegates have to be constitutionalists because they elect the president by casting their vote.

Those who support Ron Paul must begin the process now of getting elected as a delegate to the convention or it's all over and the GOP faithful will get the shadow government's choice shoved down their throats - again. The power players behind the scenes will orchestrate the show and the people will be the losers - again. The same applies with getting nominated as an electoral college delegate because America got a good lesson in civics during the 2000 pretend election regarding the popular vote vs the electoral college system.

A word to the wise: if you present yourself as a supporter of Ron Paul, you will never get elected as a delegate. Wave the flag, shout power to the GOP, rah, rah, rah, get elected and then begin your campaign to get Ron Paul nominated. Now, some might say this type of stealth isn't right. Here's what's not right: back room deals and big money giving the American people no choice in these elections and anyone who thinks this isn't how the process has been working for the past century is in a state of denial.

Get together with your friends or people you know and plan your strategy now and work to get elected as a delegate. Time is quickly slipping by, every minute counts.

Several states including FL, SC and Iowa are planning to move their state Primaries to early December 2007 in order to prevent Ron Paul from garnering enough support financially and geographically. GOP Primaries are held on EVEN numbered years and it's not a mere coincidence that this change is being
initiated and that Ron Paul just so happens to be running.

So how do I become a delegate?

1) In order to be a delegate to conventions, you have to be a member of the GOP and register as a Republican (if applicable in your state.) I know; I know...I don't want to be part of them either but Ron Paul's sacrificing a lot too.

2) Click here to see your state delegate process with instructions.

If your state isn't listed, please contact your state Republican party: and ask how; They'll be more than happy to give you the specifics.

3) The 2008 Primary Process

In general, it's a step-by-step process in becoming a delegate. For example, to become a delegate in Texas (open primary state):

1. Vote in the 2008 Texas State Primary Election (March) and you are then eligible to be a delegate to your precinct, county/sd, state, and national conventions. Your convention will take place at your precinct's election day polling place within two hours after the polls close at 7:00 p.m. The time and
place of your precinct convention must be posted at each poll during primary election day. Expect anywhere from one to well over 100 participants to attend.

2. At the precinct convention, attendees decide by majority vote who gets to be delegates and alternates to the county/senatorial district convention (a type of town hall meeting). Often, everyone who attends becomes a delegate to the next level. However, if a large number attend, decisions will need to be made as to who will be a delegate and who will be an alternate.

Each precinct is entitled to send to the county/SD convention one delegate and one alternate for every 25 votes, or major fraction thereof, cast for Governor Rick Perry in that precinct in the 2006 general election. In districts where the size of a convention is a problem, the ratio may be set at one delegate and alternate for every 40 votes.

The only requirement to be elected as a delegate or alternate to the county/SD convention is to have voted in the 2008 Republican primary election. It is not required to attend the precinct convention in order to be elected to the next higher level. Longtime Republicans often perform tasks for the party or
candidates during Election Day, which prevents them from being able to attend. However, for those who are new to the party, attending the precinct convention will definitely increase the likelihood of being one of those elected.

3. The County / Senatorial District Convention Process

4. The State Convention Process

5. Becoming a Delegate to the National Convention

It's critical that we become delegates or all our hard work will be in vain.

Become a delegate and we'll get to hear Dr. Ron Paul giving his Inaugural Address in 2009.

Subject: Re: CNN Cafferty File - CNN Attempts to Smear Ron Paul, Fails

don't ask me how mind control and gov't psy-ops mechanically work, who knows? it's doublethink at it's best i guess, but they continually say he is barely even recognizable on the polls at 1% or less of votes (based on 2 or 3 national polling companies, who usually only poll 1,000 people, and extrapolate out), but all the polls which are available to the public at large, on the Internet or like the Fox 2nd Debate text message polls (where 40,000 or 100,000, etc vote), Ron Paul is leading... so of course they have to marginalize him and cite the government santioned 2-3 polls showing him at 1% or something similar.... kind of like the Bush administration continually (for years ongoing now) cite the
numbers for Iraqis dead, which is conservatively and realistically 10X less than reality... sometimes skewing is apparent, sometimes it's not... who the arbiter is to decide that, i don't think their ever will be a fully objective 100% non-corruptable statistic or poll...

Remember, Rumsfeld made it clear that the US doesn't count the Iraqi dead, so with that considered, why would then everyone trust US gov't assessments of Iraqi dead, and not the Red Cross and Lancet and British Medical Journal, etc etc on their best estimates that have been used for decades in all countries to assess casualty and mortality rates? It is factual and credible in almost all other instances and historical contexts', but when the #'s of Iraqi dead (>655,000-700,000, as of late last year, possibly 800,000+ by now at previous rates of death) isn't palatable and shows the disregard the US has for the
innocents, it's a false number assessment... lol.... sad sad sad.

Imagine how much traction and exposure to the population of mostly misinformed citizens a lot of these great and underreported news articles and research would get, if you would Forwarded them to your email list of even 10 people, and then even if 1/2 of them woke up and Forwarded the articles and News items and videos, etc to 10 of their friends, etc...

Ron Paul Rave 'Real Time' Interview

Saturday, May 26, 2007 -

Congressman Ron Paul (R-Tex) was in good form on Bill Maher’s Real Time program on HBO, broadcast at 11PM EST, May 25. Sometimes a stiff speaker, he appeared animated, even enthusiastic, belying his reputation as a dour “Dr. No” for voting against the many unconstitutional bills in Congress.

Maher, who can be confrontational, seemed taken, once again, by Ron Paul’s re-emphasized message of peace and liberty. The two spoke of “blowback” and how the Middle Eastern wars were probably causing more hate and terror to be aimed at the United States rather than less.

Once again, Ron Paul showed why he is a most unusual national candidate - a Jeffersonian republican rather than a populist - by summing up, with brilliant economy, the sweep of 20th century American interference into the affairs of other countries around the world. Ron Paul pointed out that the republic was founded on restraint at home and abroad when it came to government power, and that President Woodrow Wilson - a Democratic icon - in the early 20th century had helped erode that foundational civil building-block.

Ron Paul also noted that the American culture remained anti-war, small government and laissez faire. Almost all candidates run as a peace candidates, he told Bill Maher. And their messages are well received by the electorate. But in the last century, and this one too, once candidates get into office, and become presidents, they either start or continue wars overseas despite their promises.

Paul’s comments about war and peace were received by an enthusiastic audience that chanted his name during the debate and afterward. On, Ron Paul’s campaign chairman (and FMNN commentator) Kent Snyder thanked supporters who “gave Dr. Paul an enthusiastic welcome last night as he arrived at the studio in Los Angeles to be a guest on Bill Maher's Real Time television show.”

Snyder added: “Some of those supporters received tickets for the studio audience and continued their enthusiasm there. Several staff members of ‘Real Time’ said the support for Dr. Paul outside the studio, and inside as well, was as big a demonstration of support for any presidential candidate they've had as a guest on the show."

Ron Paul, Gold and “L'Infamie”  / Politics / US Politics

May 27, 2007 - 07:58 PM

By: Mario_Innecco

William Guy Carr, in his book entitled Pawns in the Game , describes how the Powers That Be have throughout history tried to discredit people or institutions that have threatened their power. The strategy described by Mr. Carr is called l'infamie which is French for infamy. In Pawns in the Game Carr describes how campaigns of l'infamie were started against Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette during the French revolution and also against Tsar Nicholas II during the Soviet revolution of 1917. Human nature does not alter with the passage of time and with that in mind we have detected the following campaigns of l'infamie.

Back in April of 2004 the Financial Times of London started a campaign of l'infamie against gold and the concept of sound money. In an editorial entitled Going, Going, Gold the anonymous FT writer ended his diatribe against the yellow metal by saying: Whatever the speed, the direction is clear. Gold is on its way out as an investment and reserve asset. Three cheers for that. All we, at ForSoundMoney, can say is that since the FT of London tried to discredit gold the price of this barbarous relic has risen from $400.65 to $655! The popularity of the gold and silver ETFs or Exchange Traded Funds in the last few years and the increasing appetite for gold by the emerging markets' central banks and private investors are contributing to the failure of the FT's campaign of l'infamie agains the purest and truest barometer of the monetary inflation created by the Powers That Be through their central banks.

Forward to May 2007 and we now see a campaign of l'infamie being directed against Rebublican presidential hopeful Ron Paul by the Powers That Be through their media channels or the so-called mainstream media. The power behind Ron Paul's message is the truth of his message and that does not please the Powers That Be and their manistream media. Ron Paul won the MSNBC GOP debate and then came second in Fox News GOP debate according to a the Fox News telephone poll. Fox News has tried to discredit Ron Paul after his recent successes and Michigan GOP leader Saul Anuzis has tried to barr Dr. Paul from future debates. The Michigan GOP got so many calls, e-mails and faxes in protest that it decided to back down from its campaign to barr Ron Paul from future debates.

Like with gold the Powers That Be are having a difficult time suppressing Ron Paul's message of liberty, truth and common sense. It is not surprising that Ron Paul is also a proponent of constitutional money and a gold and silver backed monetary system. We at ForSoundMoney think Ron Paul's stock is only starting its bull market. We think the current bull market in gold goes hand in hand with Dr.Paul's growing popularity.

By Mario Innecco

At ForSoundMoney we stand for a hard currency. We believe in a monetary system based on commodity money and a free-market banking system where central banks are non-existant.

Ron Paul’s views on 911 shared by average laborers

Member Opinions:
By: DavidLimbaugh on 5/27/07
Sometimes I just shake my head.

This is one of those times:

"The next observation, if the plane did hit the building on center and did damage the beams sufficiently to collapse, the top part would crumble and settle to the burnt part. The rest of the structure being engineered to support that weight in the first place would continue to support that weight. However, if the plane hit off center the beams on one side would give away and the top would lean in that direction and overbalance and fall off to the side. Never has a structure of that size and magnitude collapsed straight down except under controlled demolition. The mathematical odds of two buildings collapsing precisely the same way in minutes are incalculable."

The metal bent - the floors fell like pancakes. Kind of like the Democratic platform.

By: NH on 5/27/07
Um I'm not sure why David Limbaugh's post is under the letter above it...or where Clarence Jaeger gets the idea than Ron ascribes to that theory.

Ron Paul's comments about 911 in the debate referred to FOREIGN POLICY ONLY not the method of destruction of the WTC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He is not some 911 conspiracy theorist so please stop spinning it that way.

If anyone took it to mean that, please watch any number of videos on the net of the debate once again.

That's fine for Limbaugh to shake his head, but in this case, it has nothing to do with what RON PAUL actually said!

Limbaugh's post is dated today 5/27 so it tells me he is vastly out of the loop as this has already been discussed widely as to FOREIGN POLICY..

Methods of destruction were not at issue here.

-- from NH where we LOVE Ron PAUL!

Never heard the "blowback" explanation for 9/11--Guiliani caught lying?

Guiliani's firm consults on Terrorism and Mid-East oil policy. Can he seriously claim to have "never heard of" the concept of "blowback" before? It's part of al Qaeda's explanation, in the 9/11 Report, and well understood in the anti-terrorism community. So was Guiliani being an honest fool, or a cynical liar? Who in the MSM will get the answer?

From another:

After watching the debates plus the interviews & talking heads ... TWICE last night (more TV than I've watched in all of the last 30 years!) I've concluded that ol' Saul & the folks who run the republican party are not rally interested in winning the 2008 presidential election.  They're only interested in perpetuating their fascist regime & they know the democrats will do tht for them and they can claim that the dems failed & regain the presidency in 2012.
They surely realize that, given the current mood of the American voters (not the $250/seat boobs in that showroom), they can only win the 2008 presidential elections by rigging the majority of the voting machines (too much chance of being caught) or by running Ron Paul, the only republican candidate capable of winning.  They'd never do that, since in winning the election, they'd also lose the party to more clear-thinking, pro-freedom republicans ... unthinkable.
The debate show & interviews were quite an education.  It looked like Saul & the folks who run the republican party (perhaps both parties?), overestimated their ability to rig the polls &/or underestimated the perceptiveness of their viewers.  Apparently they finally allowed Dr. Ron Paul to participate with the intention of eliminating him from consideration for any further republican party activity using the tried & proven political methods of lying and deceit, assuming that the viewers wouldn't notice & if they did, their input could be effectively managed by controlling the polling process.
We don't know why that strategy didn't work, but, last night, it didn't.  I suspect swords will swing, heads will roll & the republican party will no longer allow Dr. Paul to speak to any significant audience of theirs.
The debates made it obvious that these folks (with the possible exception of McCain, who apparently spent five years in a POW camp in Viet Nam) will do anything, including calling torture "enhanced interrogation techniques" to maintain the current welfare/warfare state

So ...  our job is to do what we can to persuade the kingmakers to re-consider running Ron Paul and letting him win the presidency.  I have no idea of how to do that.  Those are political games & are way out of my area of expertise.

Here's our good friend, Jake, on Rudy's idiocy:

Giuliani’s Attack on Ron Paul Falls Flat
by Jacob G. Hornberger, May 16, 2007

Ron Paul once again roiled Republican presidential politics on the issue of foreign policy during last night’s debate, finishing second in the post-debate poll conducted by Fox News and first in the poll conducted by MSNBC.

Pointing out that U.S. foreign policy is the root cause of the anger and hatred that has engendered terrorism against the United States, including the 9/11 attacks, Paul suggested that America would be better off ending the U.S. government’s role as world policeman as wells its longtime policy of interventionism. He pointed to Vietnam as an example of where 60,000 American men died in a senseless war while today Americans are instead peacefully investing and trading with the Vietnamese despite their communist regime.

Paul’s point ignited an attack by former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who indignantly announced that he had never heard such a theory in his life and asked Paul to retract it. Instead, Paul steadfastly stood his ground, pointing out that the CIA itself has pointed out the “blowback” that U.S. foreign policy has engendered. He cited the CIA’s installation of the shah of Iran in 1953 for producing the blowback that resulted in the taking of the U.S. hostages in Iran many years later.

In a post-debate interview, Giuliani clarified his point by reciting the official U.S. canard that was issued immediately after the 9/11 attacks — that the terrorists hate us for our “freedom and values.” Giuliani suggested that it was because of our “freedom of religion” and “freedom for women.”

When Paul mentioned Iran as an example of blowback from U.S. foreign policy, he was referring to the 1953 coup in which the CIA secretly and surreptitiously engineered the ouster of the democratically elected prime minister of Iran, Mohammed Mossadegh, who had been selected Time Magazine’s Man of the Year. In his place, the CIA installed the shah of Iran, whose secret police proceeded to terrorize and torture the Iranian people for the next 25 years, with the ardent support of the U.S. government. As the Iranian people discovered the U.S. government’s role in all this, their anger and rage ultimately erupted in 1979 with the Iranian Revolution and the taking of the U.S. hostages.

Consider U.S. foreign policy toward Iraq:

1. The U.S. support of Saddam Hussein.
2. The U.S. furnishing of weapons of mass destruction to Saddam Hussein and the correlative assistance provided by the U.S. in the use of such weaponry.
3. The Persian Gulf intervention.
4. The intentional destruction of Iraq’s water and sewage facilities, with full knowledge as to what effect such action would have on the long-term health of the Iraqi people.
5. The more than 10 years of brutal sanctions, which contributed to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Iraqi children from sickness and disease.
6. The deadly no-fly zones, which had not been authorized by either the UN or the U.S. Congress, and whose enforcement entailed the firing of missiles and the dropping of bombs that killed even more Iraqis.
7. U.S. Ambassador to the UN Madeleine Albright’s infamous statement to “Sixty Minutes” that reverberated throughout the Middle East that the deaths of half-a-million Iraqi children had been “worth it.”
8. The invasion and occupation of Iraq, which has killed and maimed hundreds of thousands of more Iraqis.
9. The torture and sex abuse of Iraqi men at Abu Ghraib and elsewhere in Iraq, photographs and videos of which are still being kept hidden by U.S. officials because of their potential blowback.
10. The periodic rapes and murders that some U.S. troops have committed against the Iraqi people during the occupation.
11. The arbitrary and indiscriminate searches and seizures without warrants being conducted by U.S. troops.
12. The indefinite detentions without trial of some 20,000 Iraqi men and women in overcrowded prisons.

How can anyone honestly believe that such actions would not engender horrible anger and rage throughout the Middle East and, indeed, throughout the world?

As Ron Paul emphasized in last night’s debate, imagine if some foreign power — such as China — had done these types of things to the United States. Wouldn’t Americans experience anger and rage?

Indeed, closer to home, suppose Venezuela imposed sanctions and no-fly zones on the Southeastern part of the United States and then sent in Venezuelan troops to wage the war on terrorism in Florida. After all, don’t forget that the U.S. government’s refusal to turn over accused terrorist Luis Posada Carriles to the Venezuelan government for trial is no different in principle from the Taliban’s refusal to turn Osama bin Laden over to the United States after the 9/11 attacks. In fact, Venezuela’s case is stronger than the Taliban’s because Venezuela, unlike Afghanistan, has an extradition agreement with the United States. Moreover, Venezuela, unlike Washington’s response to the Taliban regime, is ready and willing to offer evidence of Posada’s role in the terrorist bombing of a Cuban airliner, which took the lives of 73 innocent people, including the young members of a Cuban sports team.

What Ron Paul’s participation in the 2008 presidential race is accomplishing is this: It is making people such as Rudy Giuliani think about things they’ve never thought about before and causing them to view the U.S. government and its long-time paradigm of empire and interventionism in an entirely different way. It’s also why he is engendering considerable discomfort among people who have long believed that the federal government is a deity whose foreign policies are beyond reproach. Don’t be surprised to hear more calls for suppressing Paul’s participation in future debates, even while the critics continue to wax eloquent about how U.S. soldiers are killing and dying in Iraq for the sake of “democracy.”

In last night’s debate Rudy Giuliani made a mistake that is commonly made by those who view the federal government as a deity. Conflating the U.S. government and the American people, he suggested in the post-debate interview that Ron Paul was “blaming America.” Actually, Paul did no such thing. He blamed the U.S. government’s interventionist foreign policies for the morass in which our nation now finds itself. Like our Founding Fathers and the Framers, Paul understands that the federal government and the country are two separate and distinct groups, which in fact is precisely why the Bill of Rights expressly protects the country from the federal government.

Ron Paul’s answers in last night’s debate reflect how differently he approaches societal problems as compared to such politicians as Rudy Giuliani. Keep in mind that Ron Paul is, first and foremost, a physician. As a doctor, he is trained in diagnosing an ailment correctly because he knows that a correct prescription almost always depends on the right diagnosis. Equally important, he isn’t going to lie to a patient or feed him a false reality about the seriousness of his ailment. In order for the patient to make the correct decision as to whether to embark on a certain course of treatment, Paul knows that it is necessary that the patient confront the reality of his condition.

Therefore, during last night’s debate Ron Paul simply was doing what he has done for many years, both as a doctor and as a congressman. He was diagnosing what ails the American body politic and prescribed the radical treatment that is necessary to heal the patient. The patient can obviously go into denial, preferring to believe instead the lies and false realities of charlatans but deep down the patient always knows that ultimately reality will not enable him to escape the consequences of having done so.

The country that we love, the first in the history of the universe to be founded on the concept of individual rights, is being taken back to the pre-Revolutionary dark ages of omnipotent rulers and powerless slaves.  We MUST resist.  There IS an alternative.  We've followed Dr. Ron Paul and watched his record for three decades.  He's the only person in our government who CONSISTENTLY votes for the Constitution ... and against EVERY bill that gives government powers not specifically enumerated in the Constitution (which is most of the bills).

Dr. Ron is risking his life to lead us, as our next President.  If you care to help, please click "Join Us" & register at & help as many friends as possible to do the same.  If they don't yet know about America's only honest politician, be sure they explore that website! We have just a few months to wake enough real Americans to ensure Ron receives the Republican nomination.  He's our last chance.

Ron Paul Violated the Rules

by Thomas E. Woods, Jr.
by Thomas E. Woods, Jr.

Ron Paul violated one of the most consistently observed rules of American political life in the GOP debate in South Carolina the other night: government officials are never, ever to level with the American population. The people are to be endlessly flattered, spoken to in bumper-sticker slogans, and in general treated like seven-year-olds.

Congressman Paul crossed another, more specific forbidden line when he contradicted one of the major working assumptions of nearly all mainstream American pundits: foreigners never, ever get angry at the U.S. government’s foreign policy, and would never for any reason want to avenge themselves against it. You can go out of your way to prevent water treatment facilities from being repaired, you can starve and bomb without compunction, and you can bring about half a million deaths, and the people will quietly take it. In fact, they probably spend their time reproaching themselves for having so displeased the U.S. government.

A man of principle and in possession of an IQ above 80, Paul naturally refused to play along. He explained that foreign policy has consequences, and that political and military interference around the world has a tendency to stir up whole peoples against us. If we ignore this simple and obvious fact, we do so at our peril. His implicit conclusion was that the shenanigans of our government have made our people more hated and more vulnerable than ever. In sum, if you want to play empire, you cannot pretend that doing so will be costless.

To the propagandized automatons of 2007 America, this is called "blaming America" for 9/11. I guess detectives should bear that in mind the next time they seek the motive behind a murder. "You’re looking for motive? Are you saying the dead man had it coming?" (Will moral relativism never cease?)

Reports from all over the intelligence community have repeatedly confirmed Paul’s point, as if we needed express confirmation of what in normal times would be a matter of simple common sense. The CIA’s Michael Scheuer, who is by no means antiwar, told CNN: "We're being attacked for what we do in the Islamic world, not for who we are or what we believe in or how we live. And there's a huge burden of guilt to be laid at Mr. Bush, Mr. Clinton, both parties for simply lying to the American people."

Now I can already hear the other objection: Islamic history and theology provide ample pretext for jihad violence for anyone who wants to find it. Supposing the truth of that claim for the sake of argument, what exactly is it that makes them seem to want to find it? Are we to ignore the countless reports showing how the dumb belligerence of the current administration has increased the ranks of the radicals? And why does Osama bin Laden bother producing recruitment tapes detailing atrocities against Muslims if all he really has to do is point to the Koran and send the suicide bombers on their way to America?

The rest of the world, hearing Paul’s remarks, will doubtless be relieved to know that there are still at least a few Americans in public life who are able to process information at higher than a sixth-grade level, and whose understanding of international affairs isn’t cartoonish and delusional. But being a conservative today, of course, means that on principle you don’t care what the rest of the world thinks – what are you, some kind of commie? God bless America!

It’s a good thing for him that Russell Kirk didn’t have to live to see the deranged caricature of itself that American conservatism has now become. Kirk, one of the key architects of that movement, spent the last years of his life opposing every military adventure of the U.S. government. The average conservative today, on the other hand, who knows only what the government and its neocon shills tell him, would be at an utter loss to account for that.

(On the domestic front, one brief observation: only Ron Paul spoke forthrightly of scaling back the scope of the federal government. Poor Tommy Thompson couldn’t think of a single thing he’d want to cut – oh, except paragraph 17b, line 32, from some health program whose purpose would take fifteen minutes to describe. He wasn’t alone: the rest of the candidates droned on about cutting waste and abuse – code for business as usual. As Lew Rockwell put it, "The others couldn't name one federal typewriter they would sell off." No wonder they hate having Ron Paul there.)

There are still some Americans who don’t enjoy being propagandized, talked down to, or treated like imbeciles, and it is they in particular who appreciate Ron Paul. Long after the self-promoting phonies on that stage are gone and forgotten, Paul will still be admired. I know I can’t wait to read the biography of his political life.

Dan McAdams, who works in Ron Paul’s office, posted these remarks immediately following the debate:

I have worked for and   with Dr. Paul more closely than perhaps anyone in this country (along with my   colleagues) for the past six years and the fact of the matter is, as Lew can   attest, that Dr. Paul is the most even-tempered, best-humored, easy-going, and   intellectually engaging individual anyone would ever want to know. I still   look at the little notes he sends me – even from years ago – and laugh my head   off.

No one would saddle themselves with the kind of   inhuman schedule that he does unless he genuinely enjoyed and felt passion for   what he was doing. The joy is there every time I see him each week. And I have   never met anyone who is so intellectually nimble and interested in new   ideas.

Ron Paul has put himself   up for personal ridicule at the hands of his inferiors just to show all of us   that there is an alternative to the direction we are headed. Which of us would   have the courage to do the same? He won? Irrelevant. His every word to the   national audience is worth a million blows of the hammer on the stone of   authoritarianism. God bless him. I have never felt more proud of him than   tonight, enduring the slings and arrows of fascists like Giuliani.

No further comment is necessary.

I have Karl Rove's emails"

Published May 10th, 2007 in Articles

Read the Interview with Palast from the Dollars & Sense magazine spring issue about to hit the streets …Dollars & Sense: In the new edition of your book, ARMED MADHOUSE, you report on the theft of the 2008 election. How do you know what they're doing? Any way to stop them?

Palast: I know because I have Karl Rove's emails. No kidding. He and his team aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer. They sent copies of their plans to GeorgeWBush.ORG instead of GeorgeWBush.COM addresses — and, heh heh, they ended up in my in-box. Who says this job ain't fun?

Dollars & Sense: Bush fired eight prosecutors. You were behind the scenes on that story long before it broke in the US. What are they still withholding from us?

Palast: Look, it's all about VOTES. You'll see that the prosecutor that Karl Rove insisted in putting in place is a slithery character named Tim Griffin. He's the guy I busted as the spider-mind behind the "caging lists" which purged thousands of Black voters. The prosecutors fired, as you'll see in Armed Madhouse, include those, like David Iglesias in New Mexico, who refused to bring phony cases of fraud against legitimate voters. It's a matter of economics: the Republican party is systematically knocking out lower-income voters; that makes their purges racially biased — but my data show that's just the effect of hunting down and attacking the ballot power of working class and poor voters. Disenfranchisement is class war by other means.

Dollars & Sense: Why the hell hasn't the U.S. press covered the story of Bush's vultures, election's theft, Iraq's oil or any of the other stories you've put on the front pages in Europe?

Palast: Robert Kennedy Jr. just complained to the head of ABC News about the blackout on my stories. (ABC has the right to take my stuff from BBC for free.) I'm not holding my breath for an answer. I call it, The Silence of the Media Lambs. We've got loads of terrific investigative reporters in America, but gutless editors. So the suck-ups to power get the choice posts in metropolitan dailies and on the networks.

Think of the punishment inflicted for the crime of investigative reporting. Seymour Hersh told me he was forced out of the New York Times and Bob Parry, the guy who busted open the Iran-Contra story, was pushed out of the Associated Press. On the other hand, Bob Woodward, who had his journalistic tongue up George Bush's rectum, who went from writing `All the President's Men' to being one of the President's men, is doing just fine.

Dollars & Sense: Many progressives are focused on privatization of the Iraqi economy, including its oil industry, as Bush's real goal for the invasion. But you write about two radically different plans within the administration, the neo-cons' versus Big Oil's—and Big Oil's plan was the one opposed to privatization. What's going on here? Plus: any update on how privatization and the whole neo-liberal reshaping of the Iraqi economy are going?

Palast: A lot of intelligent folk believe Bush had a secret plan to grab the oil fields of Iraq before the tanks rolled. That's wrong. He had TWO plans. In Armed Madhouse, I show you both — the result of two years undercover for BBC. The plans conflict. There's the neo-con plan: Privatize — that is, sell off — everything, "especially the oil" industry. That's a quote from the 101-page document which I learned was written by the neo-cons. That didn't happen — because a Jim Baker team — he's the lawyer for both Exxon and Saudi Arabia — secretly wrote a 323-page plan that called for CONTROLLING the oil
flow, not owning it. The purpose was to LIMIT the supply of oil from Iraq and keep prices high. This would, "enhance [Iraq's] relationship with OPEC" — the oil cartel. That's a quote from the document you're not supposed to see.

So here it is: the invasion was about LIMITING the flow of oil from Iraq, keeping prices high, not grabbing the oil to bring prices down for your SUV. The secret Baker plan is now the law in Iraq and prices are over $50 a barrel. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.

Dollars & Sense: We've covered some of the less-told stories of Venezuela under Chavez—for example, how he's dramatically expanding the co-operative sector of the economy. Some progressives worry though: is he a populist demagogue, maybe in the Juan Peron mold, or is he really committed to worker autonomy, democracy, and all that good stuff? You've talked with Hugo Chavez. What's your take?

Palast: Chavez recommends that everyone read my book, so obviously I think he's the greatest statesman since Lincoln. But seriously, folks, what makes the guy an astonishing threat to the Bush World Order is that he insists on keeping the cash from the sale of Venezuela's oil — shock of shocks! — in Venezuela! With some lent to the rest of Latin America. Up until now, Venezuela sold us oil then immediately shifted the funds back to the US Federal Reserve. Chavez withdrew the funds from the Fed and, Heaven help us, spent it on building his own nation's economy. Is he a "demogogue"? The word means, spokesman for the people. That he is. Fun trivia: RFK Jr. reminded me that Chavez picked up the line, "Whiff of sulfur" in speaking of Bush from my last book which he had just read.

Dollars & Sense: You write about how, depending on the price of oil over time, Venezuela's oil could turn out to be a pivot point of huge geopolitical change. Can you explain?

Palast: Internal US Department of Energy analysis (I got my hands on it for BBC; it's in the book) shows that Venezuela, not Saudi Arabia, has the largest reserve of crude. That's a geo-political earthquake.

Dollars & Sense: Are you really convinced that a big devaluation of the Chinese currency would be meaningless in terms of saving U.S. manufacturing jobs by making Chinese exports more expensive? Then why are U.S. policymakers across the political spectrum so obsessed with getting China to devalue its currency?

Palast: You're really asking, Why do politicians feed us bullshit? That's a whole book right there. Both parties are winking and nodding and giggling behind your back that the way to save jobs is to change the value of China's money. It's a brilliant cover for the bi-
partisan banging the American worker received with the one-two punch of NAFTA and `Most Favored Nation' trade status for China. There are 700 Wal-Mart plants in China — zero in the USA. Hillary Clinton was on the board of Wal-Mart when that shift went into full swing. No wonder she's joining George Bush in talking about baloney like "exchange rates."

Presidential Candidate: U.S. In Danger of Dictatorship

Congressman Ron Paul warns elite believe they own us and are "always prepared" to take our liberties

Download MP3 of Interview:

Steve Watson & Alex Jones

Wednesday, April 11, 2007 Presidential candidate Ron Paul has warned that the US is now at a crisis point because the people have been so neglectful of protecting their liberties and big government has been so effective in eroding them. He warned that the elite are prepared to concoct events to scare the American people and asserted that the 2008 Presidential election is a contest between the people who care about their freedoms and those who are willing to succumb to the temptations of dictatorship.

Congressman Ron Paul joined Alex Jones on air this week for a full hour to discuss his ongoing Presidential campaign and give his views on what he believes the fundamental issues are in America today.

The Congressman gave a candid interview in which he discussed many topics indepth including the economy, foreign policy, the North American Union, the possibility of a draft and the situations in Iraq and Iran.

Known for what many have described as his impeccable voting record,

[Message clipped]

The conspiracy to ignore and marginalize presidential candidate Ron Paul is not a theory. In this case, a jury would have to conclude a conspiracy against Dr. Paul by the corporation-controlled media exists.

First, MSNBC reported that Ron Paul scored the highest positive votes in both Republican debates he attended. That means he beat out Romney, McCain and Giuliani. There was no mention of these poll results in the major media.

Dick Morris, political pundit and former Clinton buddy, wrote an opinion piece that appeared in many media publications 5/7/07, in which he claimed John McCain had won the debate, and I could find nowhere in his piece that Ron Paul had even attended.

CNN's Glenn Beck, an alleged conservative (my fanny) ran a tiny clip on his show that tried to make Ron Paul look like a blithering idiot. He then went on to ask, "How did this guy get in the debate at all"?
Even WorldNetDaily, a prominent, conservative Internet news provider, has largely ignored Ron Paul's candidacy.

When a candidate wins two debate polls in a row that are reported by the likes of MSNBC on its own web page, that is news, especially since the winner of both polls allegedly had no chance to win the nomination. The media normally jumps on that kind of news, because people in America love underdogs, but not this time. No, this is a concerted effort.

Please review below what Representative Ron Paul stands for, and far more importantly, what he has done. Among other things, Ron Paul is the only congressmen who got up and demanded Congress declare war before attacking Iraq.

Carl F. Worden

About Ron

Brief Overview of Congressman Paul's Record

He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.
He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war.

He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.

He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.

Congressman Paul introduces numerous pieces of substantive legislation each year, probably more than any single member of Congress.

Congressman Ron Paul (R-Texas) is the leading advocate for freedom in our nation's capital. As a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, Dr. Paul tirelessly works for limited constitutional government, low taxes, free markets, and a return to sound monetary policies. He is known among his congressional colleagues and his constituents for his consistent voting record. Dr. Paul never votes for legislation unless the proposed measure is expressly authorized by the Constitution. In the words of former Treasury Secretary William Simon, Dr. Paul is the "one exception to the Gang of 535" on Capitol Hill.

Ron Paul was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Gettysburg College and the Duke University School of Medicine, before proudly serving as a flight surgeon in the U.S. Air Force during the 1960s. He and his wife Carol moved to Texas in 1968, where he began his medical practice in Brazoria County. As a specialist in obstetrics/gynecology, Dr. Paul has delivered more than 4,000 babies. He and Carol, who reside in Lake Jackson, Texas, are the proud parents of five children and have 17 grandchildren.

While serving in Congress during the late 1970s and early 1980s, Dr. Paul's limited-government ideals were not popular in Washington. In 1976, he was one of only four Republican congressmen to endorse Ronald Reagan for president.

During that time, Congressman Paul served on the House Banking committee, where he was a strong advocate for sound monetary policy and an outspoken critic of the Federal Reserve's inflationary measures. He was an unwavering advocate of pro-life and pro-family values. Dr. Paul consistently voted to lower or abolish federal taxes, spending and regulation, and used his House seat to actively promote the return of government to its proper constitutional levels. In 1984, he voluntarily relinquished his House seat and returned to his medical practice.

Dr. Paul returned to Congress in 1997 to represent the 14th congressional district of Texas. He presently serves on the House Committee on Financial Services and the House Committee on Foreign Affairs. He continues to advocate a dramatic reduction in the size of the federal government and a return to constitutional principles.

Congressman Paul's consistent voting record prompted one of his congressional colleagues to say, "Ron Paul personifies the Founding Fathers' ideal of the citizen-statesman. He makes it clear that his principles will never be compromised, and they never are." Another colleague observed, "There are few people in public life who, through thick and thin, rain or shine, stick to their principles. Ron Paul is one of those few."

Herewith the latest 'WANTAGATE' posting on

Saturday 5 May 2007 20:59

By Christopher Story FRSA, Editor and Publisher, International Currency Review, World Reports Limited, London and New York: Press NEWS and the ARCHIVE Button on the Home Page for 'Wantagate' reports since April 2006. [Note: The CLICK HERE panel is now: NEWS. A panel giving details of our latest publications has been added].

The following letter has been sent by Michael C. Cottrell, M.S., the Executive Vice President of Ambassador Leo Wanta’s AmeriTrust Groupe, Inc., to Vice President Richard B. Cheney. It shows how the United States’ ‘Act of Economic War’ against the United Kingdom/the Bank of England is associated not only with the geopolitical engineering identified in our last two postings, but also with a clumsy attempt by Vice President Cheney to mask the fact that the diverted and exploited $4.5 trillion Wanta Settlement funds have been unlawfully kept “off the books” while US Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson, at Cheney’s direction, diverted $4.8 trillion from the Bank of England on 29th-30th March 2007 in an attempt to place these funds “on the books” before authorizing the release of the $4.5 trillion to the lawful AmeriTrust Groupe, Inc. securities account at the Morgan Stanley Co., Inc. coordinates.

Additionally, a ‘refunding’, in the form of new issue unsubordinated debt obligations (ITraxx exchange traded funds via Deutsche Bank, Germany) will be used to recover the misappropriated (expropriated) Bank of England monies in a further despicable operation designed to delay the authorised release or to prevent the payment of the Wanta Settlement funds, thereby also illegally preventing Ambassador Leo Wanta’s corporation from remitting $1.575 trillion to the US Treasury in fulfilment of his legal obligations and in furtherance of the interests of the United States and of its people. We have no doubt at all that those concerned, and all who are monitoring this crisis around the world, understand the precise significance of the foregoing and of what follows.

This letter should be read in the context, in particular, of our two previous postings (dated 1st and 4th May 2007, respectively). In the meantime, multiple attempts are being made by the US centrally directed conspirators to obstruct the course of justice by means of foul ‘dirty tricks’ which will be exposed due course.

Their hopeless objective is to bury the worst financial corruption crisis in world history, and their theft of hundreds of trillions of dollars (which they could have covered up had they paid the $4.5 trillion compromise Wanta Settlement this time last year).

In this desperate, cynical endeavour, they are conspicuously failing.

Re: Immediate Inward Remittance of Financial Settlement Funds:

Dear Sir:

It has been brought to this firm's attention that the referenced agreed upon Financial Settlement payment of Four Point Five Trillion United States Dollars ($4,500,000,000,000.00) US Dollars is still on account within the United States Treasury Account of JPMORGAN CHASE Custodial Account at CITIBANK with the beneficial ownership of Leo E. Wanta/Lee E. Wanta. Further, this firm is advised that the assignment to AmeriTrust Groupe, Inc. is still in force, per instructions to Secretary Henry M. Paulson, Jr. on 14 August 2006, et seq.

Additionally, the above referenced Settlement Funds have been kept unlawfully "off the books" while Secretary Paulson, et al., at your direction, has utilized the Four Point Eight Trillion United States Dollars plus ($4,800,000,000,000.00 US Dollars), diverted from the Bank of England on March 29-March 30th 2007, in an attempt to place said funds "on the books" before authorizing release to the lawful AmeriTrust Groupe, Inc. Securities Account at Morgan Stanley & Co., Inc. coordinates (Encl 1).

Today, this firm was advised that a refunding, in the form of new issue unsubordinated debt obligations, will be used to recover the "misappropriated" Bank of England funds in a further unlawful attempt to delay the authorized release of the aforementioned Settlement Funds and thereby cause further delay and/or the prevention of payment - by Leo (Lee) E. Wanta/AmeriTrust Groupe, Inc. - of payable taxes of One Point Five Seven Five Trillion United States Dollars ($1,575,000,000,000.00 US Dollars) to the Treasury of the United States of America (or as directed by the Office of the President of the United States of America).

Accordingly, with respect, this letter hereby advises and instructs you, as Vice President of the United States of America, to immediately issue the authorization and inward remittance of the unlawfully held Four Point Five Trillion United States Dollars ($4,500,000,000,000.00 US Dollars) to the enclosed AmeriTrust Groupe, Inc. corporate securities account.

Whereas, the President of the United States of America, having signed H.R. 3723 on October 11, 1996, has protected this transaction by allowing Corporations the right to declare their Contracts, Clients, Internal Procedures and Information, and the transactions they engage in as a Corporate or Trade Secret fully protected under the Economic and Industrial Espionage Laws of the United States of America and the International Economic Community.

Inasmuch, the names, Identities, bank coordinates and other identifying information of persons or entities that are party to this transaction, contained herein, or learned hereafter, shall be a Corporate Trade Secret that shall not be disseminated or other than as provided for herein, or as allowed under applicable law. Any unauthorized Disclosure of this Private Transaction, parties to, or other material fact of, shall subject the violators to Criminal prosecution.

Best regards,

AmeriTrust Groupe, Inc.

Authorized by: Michael C. Cottrell, M.S., Executive Vice President and Treasurer (814) 874 3257 [signed by Mr Cottrell, 5-3-07]

Authorized by: Lee. E. Wanta, Chief Executive Officer, President
[signed by Ambassador Wanta, 5-3-07].
