Meredith and Bybee were convicted on other grounds.

Schmeeckle got cold feet:  his State Court Judge
advised him to appeal to the California Court of Appeals,
but he let his case die in the USDC in Santa Ana, California.
 
The Desert Health case got tangled up in
missing credentials for Federal Court personnel.
